Bio
Cleveland 'Mac' Nicoll is a theatre artist based in Boston. He graduated from Utah Valley University with a BFA in Theatre Arts, and currently serves as the department head of Drama at New World Music and Dance in Wellesley, MA.
Mac has performed with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (Macbeth, The Winter's Tale, As You Like It), Wheelock Family Theatre (The Spongebob Musical, Annie), The Hub Theatre (The Book of Will). Directed for Bentley University (Urinetown), Utah Valley University (Tartuffe), Hale Center Theater Orem (The Man with the Pointed Toes), and Renaissance Now Theatre and Film (As You Like It, The Tempest). Mac was also a founding member of Klouns Theatre Company who performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023.
Mac has also tried his hand in writing and adapting plays. His adaptation of Tartuffe was produced by UVU as part of their 2018 Main Stage season. Later that year, his 10-minute play, The U.S.S. Cortex, was part of their Short Attention Span Theatre Festival. His most recent adaptation, The Tempest was produced by Renaissance Now Theatre & Film as part of their 2021 Season. Mac is grateful to Monday's Pages in Cambridge and Providence for presenting segments of all his current writings.
In 2021, Mac joined the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) as an Associate Member.
